Columbia City, Ind.—The 2021 Trans Am presented by Pirelli season opens this weekend at the famed high-speed Sebring circuit in Central Florida. Stevens-Miller Racing (SMR) and driver Mike Skeen are ready to begin their title defense at the notoriously bumpy and difficult circuit.

Team Owner Joe Stevens said, “The offseason was much like our drive here to Sebring rather white-knuckle. We had a lot going on and not much time to get things sorted. But with a bit of luck, we’ve finally arrived at Sebring. My team put in a lot of hard work over the winter and we left nothing on the table. Now we’re looking forward to getting our new Howe Racing Enterprises, Liqui Moly, Turn 14 Distribution Camaro on track as we begin our title defense.”

Liqui Moly USA’s Director Sebastian Zelger said, “We’re excited for another year of partnership with Stevens-Miller Racing. We couldn’t have asked for better partners and ambassadors for the Liqui Moly brand. We’re ready for this season and look forward to the challenge of winning a third consecutive championship with SMR!”

New for the 2021 season is the Liqui Moly in-car camera for selected TA2 live-streamed events as well as expanded Instagram Live broadcasts from the track.

“We’re really excited to have the Liqui Moly in-car camera this year,” Stevens said. “Trans Am’s live streaming was a big hit last year and the series along with Green Light Productions did an outstanding job. We will evaluate the necessary modifications and equipment and hopefully, our fans will be able to ride along with Mike starting here at Sebring. For the first time, fans will also be able to interact with both him and me during Liqui Moly’s Instagram Live broadcast after qualifying and the race. Be sure to tune in as we’ll be answering questions and giving away prizes just follow Liqui Moly USA on Instagram for broadcast times and how to participate.”

2020 TA2 Champion and driver of the No. 1 Stevens-Miller Racing, Liqui Moly, Turn 14 Distribution Camaro Skeen said, “Even though our offseason has been shorter than normal, it seems like forever since we’ve been racing! I can’t wait to get back to Sebring and try out the new Howe car that SMR has built up in the last few weeks. While our team has remained fairly stable, the competition has changed a bit for 2021 and I’m looking forward to some great racing all year long.”

“I consider racing at the front of TA2 a mega-accomplishment,” Steven’s said. “TA2 is some of the best racing globally. There are 31 cars entered this weekend and the competition will be tougher than ever. There are great new drivers, team sponsors, and series sponsors and we couldn’t be more excited to start the season. We’re building something special at Stevens-Miller Racing and I’m very proud of that. A big thank you to Steve Sharp, Mike Skeen, Kelly Heaphy, and all of my staff for their hard work and dedication.”
