Columbia City, Ind. – Following Nashville where Mike Skeen driving the No.1 Liqui Moly took 1st place, Stevens-Miller Racing gained momentum as they roll into the Glen! This weekend’s Trans Am presented by Pirelli at Watkins Glen International is a double header and both races will be a combined classes with everyone racing at once. With the high pressure of the championship points standing being so close SMR will have to be on its game.
“I was disappointed not to have the opportunity to race at Watkins Glen last year, so it’s great that we get to make up for it with a doubleheader this time around. This will be a big points weekend, so we will come out swinging to close the small points gap we have following Nashville.” stated Mike Skeen as he tested with SRO / IMSA GT4 cars at WGI just days before the event launched. “Putting the Liqui-Moly Turn 14 Distribution Camaro upfront is always my priority and keeping it clean for race one and two is super important because we leave straight for VIR following the event.”
Berryman Products driver, Alex Weight, will have to sit out the event as a last-minute family matter will take precedent. Of course, he sent his good luck and well wishes to the team before they departed. “This team has it all, don’t change the recipe and things will keep moving forward. The championship cannot be won on the Glen so keep that in mind every step of the way. He concluded with – see you guys at COTA!”
Team owner and manager, Joe Stevens, stated the following regarding the upcoming races “The amazing weather this weekend will add to the event giving the talented drivers room to shine. Hopefully Stevens-Miller Racing drivers can manage the traffic wisely and the rest is up to our amazing staff of dedicated crew members. Thank you Trans Am and SVRA for hosting us during the continued Covid19 fluctuating restrictions.”
