Stevens-Miller Racing “Arrive & Drive” Team – Recap: Ryan Companies Road America Classic

Columbia City, Indiana (August 26, 2018) –  SMR came to Road America this past weekend with their spirits high and their race trailers full.  Coming from a dominant win at this same event the year prior, it was exciting to be returning yet again with a multi-vehicle line up.  Several Stevens-Miller partners were on site as well showing their support, including Liqui-Moly, Diamond Pistons, Trend Performanceand Berryman Products.  Three cars, from three different manufacturers, were on the agenda for complete prep, hauling, full crew support and spares.  SMR is widely known for their Prefix built Dodge line up available for rent.  But this weekend was also involving their Ford Mustang, and servicing a Chevy Camaro.

The Berryman Ford Mustang was to be driven by multi TA2 race winner Dillon Machavern, who had also won the IMSA GS championship in 2017.  Machavern placed P5 in Practice session two & P7 in Qualifying.  Though their was a mild set back with the throttle during the race, Machavern was able to achieve a strong P7.  Ethan Wilson, driver of the #49 Dodge Challenger performed very well and clean each time he was on the track.  It is obvious why Wilson is leading the 2018 Rookie of the Year title chase, placing P11 during Saturday’s race.

The #76 Chevrolet Camaro piloted by Anthony Honeywell, was rock-solid throughout the event, running just outside the top-10 in pace in each session. Honeywell averaged the same speeds as the top 3 vehicles, running WIX products under the hood and staying consistent.  The #76 is currently leading TA2 Northern Cup by 4 points against Ernie Francis JR.

Next up for the SMR team is the Watkins Glen International, September 7-9 in Watkins Glen, NY.  For more information on this series, please visit www.gotransam.com.  THANK YOU to our other sponsors, USA Automotive Supply, and Pagid Racing.
