Columbia City, Ind. – Stevens-Miller Racing (SMR) is ready to resume the battle for TA2 supremacy this weekend at Road America. “It’s been a real battle this year,” SMR Owner Joe Stevens said. “Although we’re leading the championship, we’ve had to use every weapon in our arsenal to stay out front.”

Road America is traditionally run with the NASCAR Xfinity series and this weekend is no different. “We have 30 entries and the field is stacked with talent with a number of the Xfinity regulars joining us,” Stevens said. “These Xfinity weekends are always some of the best on the calendar. With big fields and great drivers, you need to come locked, loaded, and ready to battle.”

TA2 championship leader Mike Skeen said, “Road America is one of the best motorsports facilities in the country and serves up some great racing. There is an excellent field including some up-and-coming NASCAR talent. We hope to go out there and show everyone how strong this Stevens-Miller Racing, Liqui Moly, Turn 14 Distribution Camaro is. We’ll have a number of guests from Liqui Moly and Turn 14 this weekend and we want to put on a good show for them.

“I’ve also been working with my friends at Blipshift to create a new t-shirt. Look out for an online sale during the event weekend so that everyone can be a part of the team going forward. Nothing like some good old American muscle to cover your torso.”

While Skeen leads the overall championship, teammate Alex Wright leads TA2’s Northern Cup. “I’m thrilled to be leading the Northern Cup. Brainerd was a tough race with a right-rear tire failure early in the race. The team pulled off an incredible stop and got me back out in time for a good finish and maintain my points lead. I need to continue to get as many points as possible to keep things going our way. I’ve got my fingers crossed for me and my SMR, Berryman Products Mustang to have a bit of luck this weekend.”

Berryman Products Marketing Manager Beau Blankenship added, “We are so proud of Alex and what he has accomplished this season. Our fans and followers love seeing the Berryman Products, Chemtooler, Mustang competing for a championship. We’ve had a great relationship with SMR these past three years and I can’t wait to rejoin the team and fans trackside in the near future.”

“We set the pace at Brainerd and took the win. Road America will be harder given the updated restrictor for our ‘Choice’ engine package,” Stevens said. “But we know what we have to do and that’s finding the best balance for our SMR drivers. Road America is always a great event for Trans Am and my team could not be more excited to compete against the 30 car TA2 field this weekend.
