Recap: Detroit Grand Prix
Stevens-Miller Racing Customers Score Personal Best Results At Detroit
Columbia City, Indiana (June 9, 2018) – Stevens-Miller Racing arrived at Belle Isle earlier this month with a large presence. The team would be the first to have at least one TA2 car from each manufacturer, (Dodge, Chevrolet, and Ford). Including a show car on display; all powered by Prefix. By the end of the weekend events, all customers would be leaving this historic street course with career best results.
On Saturday, Ethan Wilson led the charge in his #49 Dodge Challenger finishing in the 6th position after a hard fought race. Wilson continues to improve and quickly got comfortable on the tough Detroit street circuit and was in the hunt for a Top 5 throughout the race. Teammate, Anthony Honeywell, also turned in a career best racing his way through the pack to finish in 9th in his Prefix-powered Chevy Camaro. In Sunday’s race with mixed rain & sun conditions, it was Paul Terry turning in a strong run aboard his #12 Dodge Challenger, 8th place and a career best finish in Trans Am; with Wilson finishing close behind in 11th, and Honeywell landing 16th.

In the weeks leading up to the Detroit Grand Prix, SMR & Prefix worked diligently to prepare a new Ford Mustang for its debut. However, during Friday’s Qualifying stint, Miller was struck by another vehicle while he piloted the Mustang in the last lap of the session. After Howe Racing Enterprises assessed the damaged that was caused, it was sadly decided not to continue with competing in the weekend’s events.
The SMR team will have a full field of cars entered for the next round at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. More information and tickets for the event can be found at www.GoTransAm.com.
