Machavern Joins Liqui Moly & Stevens-Miller Racing
Columbia City, Indiana (December 31, 2018) – Dillon Machavern has signed on as team driver for Stevens-Miller Racing (SMR) for the 2019 TA2 season. Machavern will drive the SMR-Liqui Moly Ford Mustang, powered by Prefix.
SMR Owner Joe Stevens said, “We’re thrilled to have Dillon join our team. Dillon’s success speaks for itself, he brings a great attitude, and will be a great asset for our team and our sponsors. We couldn’t be more excited to have Dillon behind the wheel of our Howe-built Liqui Moly Mustang.”
Machavern added, “I’ve raced TA2 in the past and I’m very happy to have a full-time program for the upcoming season. I’ve worked previously with SMR and Prefix and can’t wait to roll out the new Liqui Moly Mustang. Having the same sponsor for both of my 2019 programs is amazing. Working with Liqui Moly last year in IMSA was an excellent experience and I can’t wait to be their brand ambassador for the Trans Am series.
“My family has a great relationship with Ford and to be behind the wheel of the SMR-Liqui Moly Mustang is a great fit for me and my family’s dealerships. This opportunity ties together so many things I’ve been associated with over the last few years. I know Joe and his team will provide a car capable of challenging for the win race after race.
“SMR will have an amazing corporate hospitality center at the TA events this season and I look forward to hosting my sponsors and their clients at the races. TA2 is great racing and the Liqui Moly customers will love it. This is a great opportunity to work with Liqui Moly, their sales team, and their customers.”
Liqui Moly USA Marketing Manager Mike Crosby said, “We’re thrilled with this announcement. Our relationship with SMR started last year supplying them with lubricants through USA Automotive Supply. We decided to step up our program for 2019 and Joe’s signing of Machavern underlines his keen sense of marketing. Having Dillon represent our brand on two fronts this season will help tie our US motorsport programs together and that is fantastic. As a company, we love TA2, it is perfect for promoting our performance lubricants as well as our products formulated specifically for the domestic market. As a German company, we are well known for our European coverage. Our participation in Trans Am highlights our domestic line of offerings.”
Machavern added, “I want to thank Liqui Moly, Joe Stevens, SMR and everyone involved who worked to make this happen. We have preseason testing scheduled and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Liqui Moly-SMR-Prefix-powered Ford Mustang. I want a championship for Liqui Moly, Prefix and SMR, and they’re giving me the tools to get it done.”
